Debate Mate’s Top Tips!

We will run through how everything works at the start of the session, but here are a few things to be aware of:

  • Everyone that is part of the virtual debate club will hear anything that you have going on in the background, so it is best to keep your microphone on mute when you are not talking.
  • Raise your computer up where possible so that the camera is at eye level.
  • There is a 'hands up' function that we will use throughout the session. If you hover over the bottom toolbar you will see an icon that says 'participants' - click on that you will see an icon in the bottom right of your screen that says 'raise your hand
  • Finally, where possible, please join us from a quiet room with good lighting. Although we know this can be difficult from home!
